Washington is certainly a different place today than it was 75 years ago. Between the years of 1939-1945, World War II was being fought overseas—and here in Washington, the 15 state shipyards were busy building warships and Boeing was building bombers. Everyday life certainly looked a little different too. We found a few photos that give a glimpse into what it was like.

We appreciate the contributions made in our great state to help with war efforts and the sacrifices made by all who lived here during that time.
