Washington DC gets a bad rap from people who don’t live here. Most people think we’re just a town of politicians but for those of us who are lucky enough to call it home, we know DC is so much more than a politician’s playground. We’re a thriving, diverse city full of art, entertainment, sports, history, culture and amazing food. We were ranked the 8th best place to live in the country by US News and World Report. We made the list partly because of our diverse population, variety of attractions and restaurant scene.

We have the best transit system in the country. We found this hard to believe but according to SmartAsset, we ranked well on average commute time and percentage difference in commute time between drivers and the metro. Who knew?

We were ranked coolest city to live in 2014 by Forbes thanks to our plethora of activities including professional and college sports, arts and culture, theaters, museums and other fun experiences.

In fact, DC welcomes millions of tourists every year. The number of tourists to DC has been steadily increasing every year and in 2015, there were a record 21.3 million visitors. Our city certainly does attract some great crowds! Who would not want to visit this amazing city?
