Minnesota definitely has some hot summers, but luckily, it comes with a plethora of lakes and even some rivers to relieve its citizens from the insane heat. Yet, some Minnesotans may find themselves wondering… is there anything else I can do to escape the scorching sun besides hit the water? While these musings are slightly traitorous when uttered in a state known for its lakes, there might just be a few other things Minnesotans can do to cool off. Here a several of the fun or just funny ones that you should try this summer.
- Pull out the old slip n’ slide, or just make one. Fun for all ages… as long as you don’t break any hips!

- Go on an ice cream tour of your city, and maybe a few others nearby. Exercise caution as this activity may cause brain freeze, weight gain, extreme financial loss, and overwhelming feelings of elation.

- Head to the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market and see the flowers. Hint: go in to the cooler… stay.

- Try cliff diving if you’re brave enough. There are a lot of awesome spots in MN, just make sure they’re known and safe.

- Neighborhood water fight. No need to send out invitations, just start attacking… they’ll get it, right?

- See if you actually can fry an egg on the street or sewer cover. Please don’t eat the egg.

- Put ice in the bathtub or kiddie pool and see who can last the longest.

- Run through the sprinklers because unlike California, we still have water.

- Put on the AC, grab a drink, and watch movies and tv shows about winter.

- Watch everyone else swim in the lake. Wallow in self-pity because you decided to lake hate today.
