So, winter is coming. Which means all of us lovely people in the Volunteer State are pulling out those big coats, finding our tire chains, and buying scarves for the long, dark months ahead. The last couple years have left the state spinning with the chill, but we aren’t folk to dwell! Just take a look at our ten top thoughts when it comes time for winter to make its way south.
- Christmas!!!!!
Kevin O’Mara / Flickr Because, Christmas! Why wouldn’t you be excited about that? It’s the greatest.
- But rain. So much rain.
Jason Trbovich / Flickr Well. This could be a bit of a problem.
- How do I drive in the rain…?
faungg’s photos / Flickr Answer: No one really knows.
- Rain means so many potholes…
chris_uk / Flickr Especially when you make it out into the country. Careful, friends!
- What. If it. SNOWS. (!!!!!!!)
Adams Carroll / Flickr Don’t say it out loud. Don’t even think it. WHAT WOULD WE DO.
- Does my car work in the snow?!
Mark Iochelli / Flickr Nashville shut its doors for days during the ice storm of 2014.
- I should Google if my car works in the snow.
Chris Dodson / Flickr Maybe…? We aren’t sure. At least not in Tennessee.
- Because it doesn’t work in the rain.
sarflondondunc / Flickr Nope. We all know it’s true.
- We’ll just pretend we know what we’re doing
Anne Warner / Flickr Or walk? Let’s all walk to school, kids!
- Thank heavens for Christmas.
Jay Kleeman / Flickr Our annual shining star, our bright spot, our wonderful end-of-the-year awesome.
Are we childish? No. Just spoiled with an awesome state that likes to throw us a couple of curveballs every once in awhile. Are you good in the rain, fellow Tennessee friends? Let us know how you are feeling about the impending winter in the comments below!
