Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! As you sit around the dinner table today with your loved ones, don’t forget to reflect on all the reasons we have to be thankful for living in the beautiful, amazing state we call home. We could live anywhere in the world, but somehow, we ended up in Texas, and thank goodness for that.

I have to say, ever since I started writing for this site, my love for Texas has grown exponentially, and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I’m sure we can all unanimously agree on these reasons to be thankful for living in the Lone Star State.

  1. The breathtaking sunsets that no other state could possibly replicate, no matter how hard they try.

  1. The incredibly diverse terrain.

  1. We have the best food on the planet.

wally gobetz/flickr We can pretty much try any type of food we want without ever leaving the state. And food is pretty darn important to us.

  1. We can drive more than 800 miles without crossing another state line…

  1. We get to enjoy a relatively low cost of living in comparison to the rest of the country.

  1. Texas has the fastest job growth of all the states, so we can easily find a job if we need one.

  1. You will never get bored here - we always have some sort of fair, festival or event going on!

  1. We have the live music capital of the world, and who wouldn’t be thankful for that?!

  2. We work hard from a young age, which teaches us that things are earned in life, not just given to us.

  1. We know how to prioritize the important things in life.

  1. We always make time for one another, and know that as long as we have our family and friends, we have everything we could ever need.

Seriously, I’ve never met people as kind-hearted and generous as Texans, and I’m thankful for each and every one of you!
