Fall is officially here. It’s one of the best times to be in West Virginia. Here are some of the things that everyone in the state does this time of year.

  1. See a college football game.

Gene/Facebook Maybe the Mountaineers or the Thundering Herd.

  1. Go to a haunted house or trail.

West Virginia Penitentiary/Facebook …Or maybe a haunted event at the former state prison.

  1. Have a bonfire.

  1. Rake leaves.

Don LaVange/Flickr Those trees are beautiful but the leaves are a lot of work.

  1. And after you rake them, you can play in them.

  1. Get lost.

  1. Enjoy the fall colors.

  1. Go to a pumpkin patch.

Orr’s Farm Market/Facebook It’s important to pick out a good pumpkin.

  1. Eat delicious apple butter.

Jeffreyw/Flickr We all have that one friend or relative that makes it and gives it away (and we are thankful for them).

  1. Get scared at the Halloween events at Camden Park or Kennywood.

Kennywood Park/Facebook Fridays and Saturdays in October at these parks sure are scary.

How many of these things do you like to do in the fall? Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments.
