Thinking of a world without Texas in it seems almost unimaginable, not to mention downright scary and dismal. Many important inventions and discoveries have hailed from the Lone Star State which have changed the entire direction and history of our nation, in some cases. Here are some reasons why the world would be totally different without Texas.

  1. Without Texas, we wouldn’t have discovered the vast oil reserves near Beaumont in 1901.

  1. We wouldn’t have whiteout, which means we would have to just cross out mistakes when we write, and that just looks sloppy.
