Throughout the last couple of weeks, we’ve taken a look at Washington in the 1950s and the 1960s. The 1970s were a remarkable time as well – things were so much different back then, and we saw many significant events like the 1974 World’s Fair in Spokane. Check out these incredible vintage photos that were captured in our state during this memorable decade:

  1. We hosted the first environmentally-themed World’s Fair in Spokane in 1974. Here was a great view of the fairgrounds from the road.

  1. This was the entrance to Expo ‘74, with the Republic of China Pavilion on the right and the Canadian on the left.

  1. The Kingdome when it was being constructed in 1975. It was eventually demolished in 2000 and replaced with Safeco Field.
