Missouri in winter is unpredictable to say the least.  Snow, rain, ice, sleet, hail, or sun…it’s all possible.  On the other hand, when the temperature drops and things freeze, you can see some pretty amazing sights completely unique to any other time.  Here are a few times the ice and snow added a new perspective.

  1. Geese at Twin Lakes, Columbia

Flick/ Heath Cajandig Beautiful contrast of the geese with the cold, dreary lake and bare trees.

  1. Tangle of Trees, Ozarks

Flickr/ Ronda Del Boccio The snow causes the trees to blend together so you can’t tell which limbs belong to which tree.

  1. Icy fence near Kingsville

  1. Iced Berries, St. Louis

  1. Missouri River

Flickr/ Heath Cajandig As beautiful as it is, it still makes me cold just looking at it.

and after a winter storm.

  1. Frozen Trees at Cape Fair

Flickr/ Victoria - Ozarks Crescent Mural I don’t think I’d want to take a walk through there, but it’s pretty to look at.
