One thing that I’ve been looking forward to this summer is taking my toddler to see his first movie on the big screen. Since my little guy is only 1 1/2 (and because I don’t want every single theater patron to hate me), my husband and I decided that taking him to see a movie at the drive-in would probably be the way to go. I have many fond memories of going to the drive-in with my family and can’t wait to share that same cinematic magic with mine. If you are looking to add a little magic to your summer, be sure to check out one of these 6 remaining Colorado drive-in theaters.
1.) Boulevard Drive-In Theater (Kansas City)
Boulevard Drive-In Theatre Facebook Opened in 1950, the Boulevard is the longest operating movie theater (indoor or outdoor) in the Kansas City area.
2.) Kanopolis Drive-In (Kanopolis)
Kanopolis Drive-In Facebook The Kanopolis’s history is as rich as its picture quality: A World War II veteran laid off from the salt mines opened not just a theater, but a Kansas institution.
3.) Starlite Drive-In (Wichita)
Starlite Drive-In Facebook Parents and children agree: Starlite is #1 for Wichita family fun!
4.) South Drive-In Theater (Dodge City)
South Drive-In Theater Facebook Two movies for the price of one? I’ll meet you in Dodge City!
5.) B&B Theatres I-70 Drive-In (Kansas City)
B&B Theatres I-70 Drive-In Facebook Okay, so technically this is on the KC MO side, but we are still going to claim it as our own. (It’s just barely in Missouri…)
6.) B&B Theatres Twin Drive-In (Independence)
B&B Theatres Twin Drive-In Facebook Another Missouri drive-in… BUT we’re willing to overlook it for the entertaining movies and delicious concession fare!
Which of these theaters is your favorite? Tell me in the comments!
