There is a lot to love about the great state of Oklahoma. Our lakes are beautiful, we have gorgeous landmarks, the people are friendly and it is very affordable. But as great as it is, we all know there are things we want to avoid at all costs. Here are a few things that top our list:
- Toll Roads

- Twisters
flickr/filter collective If you can’t avoid them, at least take shelter from them. Don’t be the onlooker who grabs their lawn chair and camera to watch them roll by.
- Pot-holes

- Shopping Before A Winter Storm

- Flooding

- Venomous Snakes
flickr/david The Water Moccasin (Cottonmouth) is Oklahoma’s only poisonous water snake. They travel away from the water, so be aware of them and keep your distance. Their coloration varies quite a bit. Look for other markings to determine if the snake is a cottonmouth, such as a large, triangular head with a dark line through the eye.
