In Dakota County, tucked away in the fields of Rosemount, you can find a plethora of abandoned structures that were originally part of a WWII factory, once known as Gopher Ordnance Works. With the help of blogger Kyle Ensrude, we got an inside look at the eerie remains.

12,000 acres in Dakota County were purchased by the government for a munitions plant in 1943.

They evicted local farmers, and built the plant that held hundreds of structures.

The land was deeded to the University of Minnesota, and now only the factory remains exist.

The land is hauntingly pretty, with all of the overgrown plants dotted with old concrete structures.
