Florida is known for theme parks and hot weather, so we have a lot of options when it comes to water parks. We always recommend checking out some of Florida’s natural springs for a good time on a hot day, but you won’t find any crazy thrill rides or water slides there. Every park has its good features, but If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, we have an awesome ride for you to try this summer.

Welcome to Blizzard Beach on the Walt Disney World resort. The idea behind this enchanting water park is a melting ski lodge. From snow-capped mountains to the ski lift, there are a lot of things at Blizzard Beach we don’t get to see very often here in Florida.

Take the ski lift to the top of Mount Gushmore and get ready to take this huge slide designed to look like a ski jump covered in slushy, melting ice.

Not only is Summit Plummet the tallest and fastest ride in the park, it’s also one of the tallest, fastest free-fall body slides in the world. Brace yourself for a near-verticle plunge down 120 feet at top speed.

The slide has a near verticle drop, so you feel like you’re falling through the air, followed by a trip through a dark tunnel and a huge splash at the end of your 360-foot-long trip.

Here’s the view from the top of the ride, where you will need to have nerves of steel to push off and start your journey. Could you do it?

If not everyone in your family is a thrill-seeker, that’s okay. There are still plenty of fun, less extreme rides, a wave pool, and two areas designed for kids at Blizzard Beach.

Have you ever been on Summit Plummet? What’s your favorite summertime attraction in Florida?
