With all of the hassle that taking airplanes has become, the thought of a train vacation becomes more and more appealing. Over the years, Amtrak has really increased its travel programs from New Orleans, creating amazing trip packages that will make for an incredible vacation. My two favorites are the trips to Memphis and San Antonio. Let’s explore!

Blues and the Bayou, From Memphis to New Orleans

You’ll get the chance to explore the sights and sounds of our musical neighbor to the north.

Then you’ll hop on the train to head to New Orleans.

Eventually you’ll arrive into New Orleans by train, treated to some spectacular views.

Riverwalk to the French Quarter, From San Antonio to New Orleans

You’ll enjoy the sights and sounds as you travel West from New Orleans with the Gulf of Mexico on your left.

You will arrive in downtown San Antonio at Sunset Station.

From there you’ll have time to explore the San Antonio Riverwalk.

You will love this amazing city which reminds me of the Spanish roots that are found throughout New Orleans.
