Minnesota’s North Shore is full of spectacular waterfalls, but no park lets you fully experience them like George H. Crosby Manitou State Park. Try taking an epic waterfall road trip up the shore, and stop for a night to hike into one of these gorgeous secluded sites. You won’t be sorry!

Start with a hike in from the parking lot through the stunning forest.

The trails are surrounded by gorgeous trees and can be challenging, but the view payoff is incredible!

Continue hiking along the ravines and view plenty of gorgeous falls along the Manitou River.

1/2 mile from the parking lot, you’ll find the first of the secluded, stunning campsites beside the falls.

The rest of the sites are scattered along the river and up the trails all the way over Benson Lake.

The furthest site is 4 1/2 miles away for those backpackers who want a bigger challenge.

The upper and middle falls are particularly amazing, and you can find plenty of places to relax and cool off in the water!

But don’t limit yourself to the river falls - Benson Lake is also gorgeous and offers an additional place to get out on the water in the park.
