Chautauqua Lake is located in Chautauqua County - approximately 1.5 hours from the city of Buffalo.

It’s a popular destination to bring your kayak or canoe, or rent a boat for fishing, waterskiing, and sailing.

If navigating the waters on your own boat doesn’t sound ideal, take a trip on the Chautauqua Belle, an authentic Mississippi River-style steamboat.

After a fun-filled day on the water, head to dry land to check out the Chautauqua Institution, art galleries, shops, wineries, and more!

There are even several quaint restaurants and ice cream shops located in the town of Mayville near the lake, which make for a great way to end the day at Chautauqua.

Speaking of ending the day… if you don’t want to drive back to Buffalo for the night, book a site at one of the area’s many campgrounds or rent a cabin or lake house for the weekend!
