North Carolina is home to a lot, including some seriously amazing inventions. But, two of the most delicious Tar Heel inventions are coming together to create something that will seriously blow your mind.
Flickr / PepOmint Cheerwine was created in Salisbury by L.D Peeler in 1917. He wanted to bring something new to the market, and boy did he strike gold. Today, the drink mainly sales in the Southeast, but those who have gotten just one taste fall in love and even have it shipped to their new homes. I know, for a fact, when I’d make return visits to North Carolina in college, Cheerwine was one of the first things I’d want to taste!

Little did he know, this simple doughnut would become an internationally-glazed sensation. No matter where you are, the ‘hot now’ light can sometimes lead to lines out the door.

Andrew Dye / Winston-Salem Journal / Source - FOX8 WGHP Soon to hit shelves, and hearts everywhere, is the new ‘Cheerwine Kreme,’ a soft drink made from two of the most delicious North Carolina combinations known to man. It will come packaged in 20oz. and 2-liter bottles. It’s safe to say, when these two combos come together, pure magic happens. Personally, I CAN’T WAIT! An official release date hasn’t been announced, but it’s safe to say North Carolinians are going to be VERY excited about this new beverage.
The new logo that reads, “2 Southern classics, 1 legendary taste,” is NO lie. No official release date has been announced, but I know many are going to be anxiously awaiting the day they can gulp down this sweet deliciousness. Now, all we can hope for is that Cookout will make a Cheerwine Kreme float and all will be right in the world.
