Pennsylvania’s certainly no stranger to the paranormal. In fact, some might say we live in the most haunted state in the country. Even a simple drive down an unassuming street in PA can turn into a haunting tale. Here’s the story of what may be Pennsylvania’s most haunted street. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?

Drive down Constitution Avenue in Allentown, near now-defunct railroad tracks, if you dare. The once nondescript street has now become center stage for a terrifying tale of the paranormal. It all started with a man.

Some say he was walking his dogs while others describe him as a railroad worker heading home from work. Either way, the man met a terrible fate. Hit by an oncoming train as he attempted to cross the tracks, the man survived – briefly – with horrific injuries.

His leg ripped off by the passing train, the mortally wounded man crawled along Constitution Avenue, his dogs by his side (if you believe the version of the story with dogs) until, finally, he succumbed to his injuries.

Travel down Constitution Avenue today and you just might discover signs that the man and his dogs’ spirits still remain. Some tell of seeing a single footprint in the snow, during the winter, alongside paw prints.

Others claim to see the glowing red eyes of dogs along the road while still others attest that the man’s tortured spirit still roams Constitution Avenue, the blood from his injuries trailing behind him as he’s accompanied by his dogs with glowing red eyes.

Journey slowly down this quiet street absent of street lights and you may also hear the faint sound of whistling. While it’s been said that whistling comes from a nearby pig farm, those who believe in the man who haunts Constitution Avenue say it’s his spirit whistling.
