What’s in a name?

Nicknamed “Cave of the Evil Spirit,” natives foretold disaster to anyone who entered.
Facebook/Devil’s Hole State Park After the battle was won by the Senecas, they kept the British away by warning them of future plight if they trespassed on the land.
To this day, superstition says that anyone who takes a rock from the cave will suffer from bad luck.
Adam Moss - Flickr Although many have tested their luck, visitors to the cave are advised to leave the structure as-is.
What might that mean for people who have chosen to deface the cave with graffiti?
