The cities and towns in Southwest Montana are really something special. Surrounded by majestic mountains and lush green land, many of them look almost too postcard perfect to be real. But while some of the more populated places tend to attract the attention and tourism, the small city of Dillon remains a quiet and underrated treasure. But we’ll give you a few great reasons to visit.

Dillon is situated in a sweeping valley into which the Beaverhead, Big Hole and Ruby Rivers drain.

Bannack State Park, one of our state’s most well-preserved ghost towns, is located just southwest of town.

The buildings that line Dillon’s Main Street are an ode to the gold rush days.

History buffs will love the Beaverhead County Museum, which preserves the local pieces of our past.
