The best thing about Northern California is that we have access to plenty of natural beauty without the crowds… That is, if you know where to go! Enderts Beach near Crescent City is one of those places where the scenery is breathtaking and other visitors are few and far between.

Located within the Redwood National Park on the coast of Del Norte County, Enderts Beach is one of the most scenic beaches along the Northern California coast.

Because it requires a 3/4 mile walk in on a gentle trail, you won’t see quite as many people as you would in other parts of the national park.

It’s also a great reprieve from the beautiful, but towering, giant redwoods. If you are craving the sight of the sky and the feeling of the sun on your skin, this is a great place to visit.

Many people spend hours here reading a book, flying a kite, or simply enjoying the view.

It’s also a really popular place to explore tide pools, one of the most iconic Northern California beach activities.

You never know what interesting aquatic life forms you will see in when the tide goes out to sea.

To reach Enderts Beach, turn off Highway 101 onto Enderts Beach Road and drive to the very end at Crescent Beach Overlook, a Redwood National Park facility.

From there, you can park at the second parking area for the Last Chance Section of the California Coastal Trail.

On the 3/4 mile trail, you’ll pass by the Nickel Creek Campground where many backpackers hiking through the area spend the night.

From there, you’ll descend a short path to the beach.
