When we think about the San Antonio, most of us jump straight to The Alamo – an understandable thought process considering the mission’s crucial role in our state’s (and nation’s, truthfully) history. But what about the other most popular tourist attraction in the city that draws millions of visitors from all over the nation? The River Walk has been entertaining people for nearly a century with its vibrant culture, unbeatable restaurants, and gorgeous scenery. If you’ve never been or can’t remember the last time you went, it’s time to start planning a trip.

The first efforts toward the River Walk we all know and love were made in 1736 with the construction of the Commerce St. bridge.
