We’re big fans of summer fun, and the season of sun and water sports is fast approaching. Since time away from home is pretty much a given during the summertime, we decided to find the best family waterslide to pass the warm days away. There’s just nothing quite like taking the time to splash around in a massive, Tennessee waterpark, wouldn’t you say? After scouring the state, we came upon The Wall waterslide located in the Wilderness at the Smokies resort in Sevierville. Get ready for some fun, folks…
Wilderness at the Smokies - Facebook Wilderness at the Smokies resort has been a favorite of Tennessee natives for years, but just a couple of years ago they upped the ante: for everyone. The Wild Wall waterslide opened just in time for the 2015 summer season, which means we’re only looking at three years running for this behemoth of fun. As you can see above, the pink and yellow striped waterslide towers above the entirety of the park.
Local 8 - Tennessee News After climbing to the top of a sixty-foot (!!) tower, you and a friend board a raft and drop down the waterslide - only to be propelled BACKWARDS after hitting the vertical wall. This is the perfect ride for an adrenaline junkie, traveling at an average of forty feet per second.
Wilderness at the Smokies - Facebook The Wall became a quick favorite amongst both children and parents alike. There’s just something about the weightlessness of being carried backwards that just gets thrill seekers in the right place.
Wilderness at the Smokies - Facebook You can find the slide in the River Lodge area located in the Wilderness at the Smokies Resort. There are plenty of other rides as well, including ten cabanas available for rent and a mini golf course. Pretty sweet gig, wouldn’t you say?
