As jam-packed with history as Wyoming is, what could be better than experiencing it firsthand?
That’s exactly what you can do when you book a stay at the historic cabins at Colter Bay Village. Though it was opened to the public in the 1960s, most of the accommodations are literally a piece of history picked up, moved, and refurbished to allow the public to experience living in a homestead cabin.

Mr. Rockefeller located 166 original homestead cabins from the 1800s and had them relocated to Colter Bay, creating a village of historic handcrafted cabins.

Naturally, the exteriors were preserved and the interiors were refurbished to modern standards. All the cabins have one room plus a bathroom (some share a bathroom between cabins) and offer a variety of sleeping options from twin beds to double beds and combinations of both.
