Over the past few years, from Hurricane Katrina to the BP Oil Spill, this community has definitely taken a beating. But their resilience and ability to thrive through adversity has really been something special, and it’s still one of the very best places to go fishing in the whole world.

Life in Venice still centers around the Venice Marina, which was rebuilt after Katrina.

But the fishing town was still resilient, and within a few years time the marina was back to its former glory.
