Camping can be fun no matter how you do it. In a tent under the stars or an RV are both excellent options when you want to enjoy the great outdoors. But there has been a rising trend of ‘glampgrounds,’ or glamorous campgrounds, that have brought camping to a whole new level. If you want to spend the night in luxury while still being in a secluded nature spot, then you’ll want to visit this state park in North Dakota:
Fort Ransom State Park, located near the tiny town of Fort Ransom, is a beautiful spot in the Sheyenne River Valley.

Many people who go to Fort Ransom State Park choose to camp there, which up until last year they did mostly through the regular campground with tents or RVs. Now, though, many people enjoy staying in one of their two luxurious yurts.

These yurts are essentially huge, permanent tents nestled in the trees of the surrounding forests. Inside they have everything you need for a comfortable stay and more.

A full kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, loft, and plenty of space to hang out with friends and family are included in both yurts. Outside of each you will find a deck, picnic table, and fire ring. It’s everything you could possibly need for camping!

While staying at this ‘glampground,’ you can enjoy the beautiful sights of the park. The Sheyenne River winds through it and is popular for canoeing and kayaking in the summer. Fishing is another great river activity.

Many trails are available that will take you through the most beautiful and picturesque parts of the valley. Dense forests, open prairie meadows, and gently rolling hills full of plants and animals are all here to explore.

The two yurts are called the Pederson yurt and the Redeske yurt and are available for reservation year round, even in winter! They do have heating, after all.
