Rhode Island is a gorgeous state equipped with a stunning coastline. It is also the second most densely populated state in the United States. Put these things together and you have very crowded beaches in the summer. While visiting some of the more popular state beaches are still worth it for their amenities and lovely shores, it can be nice to find a little peace sometimes. This beach answers the call!

Goosewing Beach is located off South Shore Road in Little Compton.

This stunning area is part of a beautiful small nature preserve and is just steps from the more widely known town beach and South Shore Beach.

The beach and preserve offers coastal pond, dune, and beach environments and is home to tons of cool wildlife and marine life.

It also has pristine sand ideal for basking in the sun and enjoying a quiet outdoorsy moment away from the crowds.

Be warned that this beach does not have parking and does not offer amenities. It is however a comfortable walking distance away from South Shore Beach where you can park.

Soak up the sun, catch some waves, and explore the nature preserve all in one perfectly peaceful afternoon in Little Compton (which is also a very charming small town).
