North Dakota is small town central. Throughout its thousands of acres of farms and countryside are little communities that many people know and love. There are tons of great examples of these charming towns, but there are a few that rise to the top as some of the best. Whether they are great because of their location, their attractions, the people in them, or something else, they are simply delightful. Here is one of those small towns that is one of this state’s best:

Harvey was founded in 1893.

The railroad was widely important at the time and without it we probably wouldn’t have a lot of the places we know and live in today. The photo shown was taken in the 1940s.
The main street area is full of family owned and mom & pop shops.

Harvey is also connected to the North Country National Scenic Trail.
