You might remember this train from your childhood, back when it was the Heber Creeper. Now it’s the Heber Valley Railroad, and its bigger and better than ever, with several scenic routes and tons of special events.

Trains depart from the railroad’s station at 450 S. 600 W. in Heber. They run six days a week, starting as early as 11:00 am.

The Deer Creek Express is a 90-minute ride. You’ll pass through the rural Heber Valley, enjoying views of farms and barns, with the mountains in the distance.

Then, the train travels along the banks of Deer Creek Reservoir to Decker Bay before returning to the station.

The Provo Canyon Limited takes you along the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir, then follows the banks of the scenic Provo River.

The train stops at Vivian Park and allows passengers to disembark and enjoy the park for 20 minutes before returning to the station.

Monday nights are the best time to ride, especially if you’re planning a big family event. Arrive at the train depot at 6:40 pm to see a Wild West gunfight.

Then, hop aboard the train for a 90-minute trip to Deer Creek Reservoir and back. Participate in the sing-a-longs during your ride, munch on some discounted snacks, and enjoy special pricing on Monday nights - just $8 per person, or $35 for up to six passengers.

Celebrate the Summer Solstice with the Heber Valley Railroad. The event will include a yoga party at the station, a fun run, Healthy Hippie Breakfast, Live music and entertainment all day, a dance and costume contest and fireworks. Tickets are just $5.
