Santa LOVES Alaskans, and he proves that every year by getting us the best stuff. It’s kind of hard not to enjoy Christmas in our state because we get to enjoy the coolest presents… and they are all from Santa, kinda. You may not know it, but Santa controls the weather, which is why we always have a white Christmas, and he controls Obama too apparently, which explains the gift of renaming Mt. McKinley. Okay, okay, all jokes aside, Alaska is an awesome state to live in and these are just some great things about it that make it as awesome as it is.

  1. A seat for himself on city council.

Amy Meredith | Flickr That’s right, Santa gifted the town of North Pole, Alaska, a seat on the city council for a man legally named Santa Claus. Cool 🙂

  1. A shockingly beautiful and varied landscape.

Diana Robinson | Flickr Alaska land is the best land. We have insane mountains and gorgeous valleys… we even have these awesome ice caves that are stunning and freezing at the same time!

  1. The gift of the best wildlife around.

Denali National Park and Preserve | Flickr From wild grizzly bears to city moose, Alaska has it all. Even fish, we have ALL the fish.

  1. Top notch hikes and trails.

  1. The dopest gift out there.

  1. Amazing law enforcement.

Arctic Warrior | Flickr With new drugs being legalized, I’m sure these guys will be strictly enforcing the rules!

  1. A brand spanking new mountain.

Denali National Park and Preserve | Flickr Okay, we kind of got a new mountain, but not really. Mostly, we just got a new name for the best mountain in the world… Denali!

  1. The best snow recreation out there.

Arctic Wolves | Flickr That’s right… Alaska is a ski and snowboarding destination. Our slopes are the sickest and we get to use them all winter long.

  1. A white Christmas.

Roman Boed | Flickr We get a white Christmas almost every year and that’s because Santa loves us and wants us to be happy.

What else do we have to be grateful for in Alaska? Share in the comments, and have a happy holiday!
