As the population grows, and the internet makes our world increasingly smaller, there are few places that are unknown or remote. But if you want to get away from it all in Illinois, there is one spot you have to check out: Inspiration Point. This gorgeous place is set out in southern Illinois. Even people who are in the area might not get out here. But that would be a mistake. Bring a sandwich, because you should prepare to sit up here awhile once you find it.
As anyone who has been in the Shawnee National Forest knows, beauty abounds. But you might not know to take this quick .8 mile hike located by Wolf Lake.
