New Orleans is a town where there are way more festivals than I could ever name, let alone ever attend. But there is definitely a single festival that has basically set the tone for all the rest of the festivals throughout Louisiana. It’s always growing and changing, but luckily some of the most important aspects of the festival always stay the same.

The festival is held the last weekend of April and the first weekend of May every year.

Legendary artists of all types have come to play at the Jazz Fest, including acts like Simon & Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder (playing this year), and Fats Domino.

Throughout the festival there are some of the most amazing parades of Mardi Gras Indians in all of their beauty.

Another incredible aspect of the Jazz Fest is the food options.

One of the values of the festival is making sure there is a place for Louisiana artists to grow and be supported.

The energy of the big crowd that gathers each year to celebrate the incredible music found here.
