Utahns are lucky to have thousands of hiking trails throughout the state – many of which are just a few miles from our homes. Here’s a trail that winds right through the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, and it’s perfect for everyone in the family.
The Jordan River Parkway stretches nearly 45 miles through the Salt Lake Valley and into Saratoga Springs.

It’s a multi-use trail that allows walkers, joggers, cyclists, dogs and even horses!

You’ll find several bicycle repair stands along the trail. They’re equipped with air pumps, tools and a stand to put your bike on if you need to change out a flat tire.

The trail goes under bridges and sometimes even through tunnels under major roads, so it allows safe passage with no worry about the danger of motorists.

Look for bat boxes and other nesting boxes that are installed all along the trail.
