When people travel to North Dakota they usually go to places like Fargo for shopping or to Medora for all the touristy things you can do there, but there are more places within the state that deserve some attention. This town in particular should be getting way more visitors than it does, and here’s why:

Kenmare, North Dakota was founded in 1897 and still holds that older charm today.

Kenmare Association of Commerce/Facebook Kenmare is a town in Ward County with a population of just above 1,000 residents. It is sometimes referred to as the Snow Goose Capitol of North Dakota and even has an annual GooseFest to celebrate this.

Despite its small town size, there is plenty to see and do here that makes for a memorable visit.

Kenmare also has other attractions that can delight anyone of any age.

Another key feature of the town is the Pioneer Village.

The Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge is located near Kenmare and has plenty of gorgeous trails and scenic, natural settings to see.
