What started as a miniature golf course in 1956 has grown into a classic amusement park that is now in the hearts and memories of many visitors. Kentucky Shores Family Fun Center is situated near Kentucky Lake and provides just the right amount of excitement and nostalgia. Unless you’ve been to this area, you’ve probably never heard of this hidden gem that has provided decades of family fun.
In 1956, the property that is now Kentucky Shores began as a miniature golf course and it stayed that way for quite awhile. In the 70’s, a go kart track was added and it became a destination for family fun.

The park fell into disrepair until 2007 when it was purchased by new owners who vowed to keep the memories alive by restoring the park back to its glory days and adding new attractions to bring it into modern day. The miniature golf course was brought back to life and visitors have been enjoying the park ever since.

New this year, straight from Dollywood, the park now has its very own mini-coaster. This colorful ride adds even more charm to this small town park.

The bumper boats are another favorite feature of the park, as well as the zipline, rock wall and super slide. You can choose to pay per attraction or buy a combo wristband that allows you access to almost everything.

The main attraction of the park remains the Go Karts. The owners have been able to preserve some of how the track used to be and you’ll have some good old-fashioned fun zipping around the track.

The small train that encircles the property is another favorite, especially for the youngest visitors. It’s a part of the simple nature of this park, which is its main appeal. The friendly staff and laid back atmosphere make this a great Kentucky destination, even if you’ve never heard of it.
