Way down along the border with Illinois in the southeast corner of the state about midway between Kenosha and Beloit is Delavan Lake. Often overlooked in favor of nearby Lake Geneva, this lake is a lot less busy and commercialized. It also has some of the best fishing in the area. Head to Lake Geneva for a quaint, cute town and great food, but if you want to get out on the water, head to Lake Delavan instead.
With stunning views like this, it’s hard to resist Lake Delavan. It gets its fair share of visitors, but nowhere near as many as nearby Lake Geneva. It’s a bit of a hidden gem in that respect.
