Of course, the most magnificent part of the site is Madame Sherri’s staircase, which remains safe and sound after the home that it was attached to was destroyed.

Looking around the property it is easy to be transported into the past, to the time when Madame Antoinette Sherri hosted lavish parties in her very own castle.

The “castle” was built in 1931, and became Madame Sherri’s summer retreat, a place famous for lavish parties.

However, the home was destroyed in 1962 by a fire.

However, the Chesterfield Conservation Committee purchased the land and nearly 500 acres surrounding it, which now provides a great place to explore.
