Residents of Northern California have had their fair share of wet weather this past week. Heavy snowfall, rains and winds have swept the region, leaving many areas damaged with flooding. But perhaps none of it was quite so unexpected as the incident that happened just a few days ago.
In the middle of the night, a wave crashed through the window of a restaurant in San Francisco. Fortunately, no one was inside the building when this occurred; however, the building was not spared from damage. The footage below shows just how massive the wave – and its damage – was.
Moonraker Restaurant in Pacifica has been renowned for its breathtaking, expansive view of the ocean since it opened in 2011.

Unfortunately, it was this very characteristic that proved to endanger the restaurant in the midst of the storms that plagued Northern California this week.

Glass flew every which way as more and more water poured into the restaurant. Thankfully, no one was inside during this horrific event.

According to restaurant owner Gary Mcnarma, damage is estimated to cost up to $15,000.
