I know what you’re thinking, and no, it’s not Walmart. Though, as Arkansans, we probably ought to go on record admitting that we know Walmart can be a pretty weird place.

The store we’re talking about today might just be one of the most unique stores anywhere. You see, it’s just a regular convenience store…except that it’s also dedicated to preserving the history of one of Arkansas’s most interesting creatures of legend. No matter if you’re a believer in the Fouke Monster (also called the Boggy Creek Monster) or not, you’ve got to appreciate the quirky coolness of this awesome store dedicated to telling the public all about it.

Monster Mart is located at 104 Highway 71 in Fouke. Directions are here.

From the moment you arrive at Monster Mart, it’s perfectly clear that you’re about to experience something unique.

Some may call him Big Foot or Sasquatch. Or maybe even Yeti or Skunk Ape. Around these parts, however, he’s called the Fouke Monster or the Boggy Creek Monster, and Monster Mart is dedicated to him.

Movies have been made about the Fouke Monster, and books have been written on the subject. Monster Mart preserves that tradition by making those books available in their store.
