Great nature trails can be found all over Mississippi, but if you’re searching for “The Nature Trail,” you’ll have to head to Natchez. Also known as the “Lower Trail,” the one-a-kind hike features a 200’ descent, provides unparalleled views of the Mighty Mississippi, and leads straight to the city’s historic district, Under-The-Hill. Take a look:

Spanning .43 miles, the 3-tiered trail, which is dotted with relaxation areas, vista points, and shaded benches, is rated as medium in terms of difficulty.

To begin the riverside trail, head to the corner of Madison and Learned Roads and follow the wooden steps.

As you walk along the pathway, you’ll get close-up views of Natchez’s famous bluff.

Coming to an end at Silver Street, the trail leads directly to Natchez Under-The-Hill.
