With a population of just over 500 residents, Northport is a tight-knit, quiet, and truly tiny community in Northern Michigan.

The village was founded in 1849 and actually served as one of the county’s largest towns throughout the 1800s and into the early 1900s.

Today, Northport certainly isn’t the largest town in its region — but it continues to draw in scores of visitors each year with its unbeatable charm and atmosphere.
