This 7-mile round trip journey will give you glimpses of some of the oldest trees in the area (some range from 500 to 1,000 years old!), and in the end, you will arrive at Opal Pool.

A perfectly carved into rock natural waterslide is hiding along the creek just for your sliding fun. Located just up the creek from Merten Mill and the bridge with a sign directing you to the Opal Creek Trail, you can have a sliding adventure on your way to the pools, on your way back, or both.

For a truly adventurous day, this is one not to miss. A Northwest Forest Pass is needed for parking at the trailhead, and parking spots fill up quickly on hot days. Consider carpooling and get there early to make the most of the day in this amazing spot.
