Painted Canyon is a gorgeous spot about 40 miles from Palm Spring, in the Mecca Hills Recreation Area. Forest Park gets all the attention as an outdoor destination in Portland, but this lesser known trail and destination is a force all its own. The Warrior Rock Lighthouse Trail takes you along the beach, through fields, and in the end, you reach the namesake lighthouse, the smallest in Oregon and one of just two in the state that are not on the Pacific Ocean.
