In 2008, a winter storm revealed a mystery buried in the sand of Horsfall Beach near Coos Bay. The intense weather moved around large sand dunes, exposing the tip of a shipwreck. As the weeks wore on, the storms revealed more and more of the decaying ruins, until nearly 30 feet of the bow was visible (blm.gov). How long ago it crashed, and where it came from, no one knew; but the mystery fascinated people all across the state....

Oakwood Cemetery was officially established in the 1850s, though it’s believed that earlier settlers who died in a Comanche attack are laid to rest here, too. The Burr Trail from Bullfrog to Boulder is 67 miles long, and features some of Utah’s most stunning scenery. Along the way, you’ll pass through Glen Canyon National Recreational Area, Capitol Reef National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Burr Trail was established by John Burr around 1876, as a way to move his cattle from summer to winter feeding grounds. It now connects Boulder and Bullfrog, along a stretch of very scenic highway....
