Who doesn’t love fresh-baked croissants and confections? Recently, Business Insider named the best bakery in every state. The winner for South Dakota? Queen City Bakery, in Sioux Falls. We wholeheartedly agree that this little gem is worth every award it can scoop up. In fact, we think that not only is it the best bakeshop in the state…it’s quite likely the best in the country.
You’ll find Queen City Bakery in this great historic building at 324 E. 8th Street in Sioux Falls.

The interior is classic and cozy with its exposed beams and hardwood floors.

We love the coffee bar - this place has a very communal feel. You’ll make new friends here while you enjoy your cake or croissant and cup of java.

We have one complaint about Queen City Bakery. How in the world do they expect us to choose ONE tasty treat? It was nearly impossible just to choose the photos for this article…because everything is amazing. It’s all made from scratch, fresh every day.

The scones are to die for. These happen to be blueberry with almond glaze…but every kind they offer is tasty.

Eat your veggies and you can have some cake. When you have a delicious roasted veggie and havarti cheese sandwich on rosemary focaccia, it’s not hard to enjoy the healthy stuff.

Or, maybe just skip the veggies and go right for the cake, with a tasty latte on the side. We won’t tell anyone.
