If you’re from North Dakota, you may have already heard about this place. In San Haven, ND, there is what used to be a huge tuberculosis treatment facility. It’s now in ruins and slowly deteriorating. It is known as the San Haven Sanatorium, built in 1912. What went on behind the walls of this massive ghost is largely unknown but there are rumors and reason to believe that unspeakable things happened there.
After it was used to treat and research tuberculosis, it became an institution for those mentally handicapped. The treatment of these patients became a widely controversial case and eventually San Haven Sanatorium closed down in 1989.
What it looks like now is nothing short of nightmare material – and the grounds are actually said to be haunted…
