Solvang, which translates to “sunny field” in Danish, is a city in Santa Barbara County that was founded in 1911 by a group of Danish settlers who wanted to establish a Danish colony out West.

When you arrive to Solvang, one of the best ways to experience this town is by taking a horse-drawn trolley ride around the main attractions of the village.

Along the main street you’ll find all sorts of shops and restaurants that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to a quaint Danish hamlet.
