Spruce Knob is the highest point in West Virginia, standing proud at 4,863 feet. This mountain has tons of recreation opportunities, and a beautiful, secluded campground.

You’ll find this campground tucked into the trees along Forest Road. There are 30 standard, non-electric RV sites, but for real peace and quiet, choose one of the 12 walk-up sites.

Each campsite has gravel and a fire pit. You can purchase firewood onsite, and you can also access vault toilets. Drinking water is also available. These sites are rustic, but you’ll find yourself surrounded by the most incredible beauty in the state.

There’s plenty to do here. More than 60 miles of hiking trails are yours to explore, and all offer amazing views of the mountain.
