In town, the Sheridan Rodeo is an event that’s been attracting attention from around the nation for almost 90 years.

There’s more to the Sheridan Rodeo than bronc bustin’ and bull ridin’, however.

Lasting almost a week, the rodeo includes a parade, bed races, a pancake pancake breakfast, a carnival, and an epic street dance that’s worth coming for all on it’s own.

Sheridan also hosts the First People’s Powwow during the rodeo. It’s a unique opportunity to experience authentic drum teams, and dancers performing traditional Native American dances, wearing beautiful ceremonial regalia.

There are other festivals and events in Sheridan, though, including live-music concerts in the park.

Plus, the there’s a street festival on Historic Main Street in Sheridan the third Thursday of June, July, August, and September.

Vendors set up food and retail and craft booths. There’s live music at Third Thursdays, too - another excuse for dancing in the streets!

Sheridan has an annual brewfest each August, too. Nearly 20 different breweries from several Northwest states and Alaska bring their best in hopes of being voted the favorite brewery.

The night life in Sheridan is fun, too. Have dinner at one of many restaurants and bistros, then head over to a pub or bar for an after dinner drink.

You’ll get a taste of history along with your drink a the Mint Bar. It’s been in operation in Sheridan since 1907.

Actually, there’s tons of history in Sheridan. The Wyo Theater, for example, has been a center for entertainment in the city since 1923 when it opened as the Lotus, showing silent films.
