The Quechee Gorge is known as Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon, it’s simply spectacular to see from above, but what makes this such a great destination to explore is that it’s just a 1-mile hike to the bottom and back. That’s right, you can make this round trip hike in about an hour and the views and perspectives are simply amazing. Check out this canyon hike in VT for yourself!

This 165-foot deep gorge can be viewed from the U.S. Route 4 bridge and from trails on both sides of the gorge.

The Ottauquechee River flows through the bottom of the gorge and is a popular whitewater kayak run.

About 13,000 years ago during the Ice Age, Quechee (along with the entire region) was covered by a glacier.
